It's a unique experience, sleeping on a vintage World War II submarine or Destroyer Escort. In fact, it's something only sailors and submariners can speak about. If you've got a group of 20 or more, we've got a place for you to sleep overnight - a place filled with the magic and mystery of history.

Field Trips Bring History Alive

The AUWC provides a unique historical, educational, and patriotic experience of the U.S Navy and undersea warfare. It is a great location for a field trip. If your school plans on visiting, please contact the AUWC in advance. These are historic vessels, and they require an amount of care and caution by all AUWC visitors. Cost of programs depend on which program is chosen and number of participants.

Field Trip programs include:

  • Self Guided Tours with Introduction to the site given by the Education Outreach Coordinator
  • Guided Tour given by the Education Outreach Coordinator
  • Guided Tour and activity. Activity topics include technology, electricity, buoyancy, and communication.

Some programs have a number of participants limit. Please contact us for more information.
